I did it! I signed up for a full marathon. After much dillying and a modicum of dallying I saw others were signing up for the Berlin marathon next year and, in the blink of an eye all €60 slots of were gone. This left those willing to pay €90 clambering to get signed up and then… The €110 places and beyond. It was an auction and I was not waiting for that last flurry to bid.

So, for a mere €90 I can fulfil my challenge and complete a full marathon less than 18 months after starting running.
